My son is very excited to have his very own colony of honeybees this year. Following an afternoon of making splits in Alf’s beeyard, his freshly-painted hive has several thousand new occupants! (Thanks, Alf!)

More Bear Damage!
A bear made its way through Alf’s beeyard, just outside of Danville, on the 5th of April 2012. Six hives were destroyed.

It was in the low 50s in Central PA on the 27th of February. Of course we’re going to check the bees!
